1) Odysseys:
First is a circular platform with a round bottom. This will tip up under the contestant's weight, so they have to cross quickly to avoid sliding off. Coming out from the centre of the platform are four shark-fin shapes to stop the contestants from running straight across. These have to be jumped over or ducked under.
2) Loading Docks:
Next is a thin bridge with three conveyer belts above it. A heavy bag will drop from each of these belts, one after another. The contestants have to catch one bag and carry it to the other side, whilst avoiding being knocked off by the others. If they don't catch a bag the bridge will tip up and drop them into the water.
3) Alphabet Parley:
On a screen is a random number and letter generator. The contestants press a button to stop the generator and display one random number and letter. They then must sit on a barrel and name the letter that comes the chosen number of places before the chosen letter in the alphabet.
So, for example if the screen said "¦ 2 ¦ ¦ R ¦", the answer would be P, as P is 2 before R in the alphabet. If they get it wrong the trap door they are sitting on will open and drop them into the water.
4) Castaway:
Here there's giant ball hanging from a track in the air. The contestants must jump and grab onto the ball to slide along the track over a pool of water. Once at the other side of the water they have to let go and fall onto a net.
5) Island Escape:
The contestants have to jump from a high ledge onto a round platform floating on the water below. If they manage to land on it, and stay balanced, they then have to use a rope to pull themselves to the other side of the pool.
6) Maths Parley:
Now the contestants have to press two buttons to stop two random number generators. They have to add the two numbers shown together and enter the answer into the keypad to continue. If they get it wrong the trapdoor they're standing on will open and they'll be dropped into the water.
7) Cannonball Run:
To cross some more water the contestants have to run over four big balls suspended on swings. The balls also spin round when trodden on to make it even harder.
8) Swing Mast:
Here the contestants have to throw a rope and try to get it to wrap around a bar above. They need to get it wrapped round securely enough so they can use the rope to swing and land on a floating mat.
9) Captain's Cabin:
Finally the contestants have to climb up a giant turning ship wheel by using the pegs sticking out of it. At the top is the button to stop the clock.
End of stage
1) Galleon:
To begin the contestants have to balance a yoke carrying two heavy weights on their shoulders. They have to walk with this over a rotating Y-shaped bridge - walking over one path and then taking another to reach the next part of the course. When they've crossed the bridge they have to put the weights down in two containers.
2) Colour Fusion:
On a screen are two hexagons that are constantly changing colour. The contestants have to press a button to stop changing and display just two colours. They then have to work out what third colour would be made if the two displayed colours were mixed together. If a contestant gets it wrong the trapdoor they're standing on will open and they'll be dropped into the water.
3) Rope Maze:
Here there is an overhead maze with a rope hanging down at the start. The contestants have to hang onto the rope and work it through the maze to the other end.
4) Survival Flag:
The contestants have to raise a heavy weight up a flagpole to the top.
5) Tactical Parley:
Now the contestants have to press two buttons to stop two random number generators. They have to subtract the first number displayed from the second number and enter the answer into the keypad to continue. If they get it wrong the trapdoor they're standing on will open and they'll be dropped into the water.
6) Heavenly Climb:
To finish the contestants have to climb up a pole to reach the rotating propeller at the top. When they can reach one of the propeller's blades, they have to hang onto it and wait for it to turn around and reach a pipe. The contestants have to drop off onto this pipe and run along it to reach the button to stop the clock.
End of stage
1) Hawkeye:
A wheel spins around fast in front of the contestants. On it is lots of letters, but also one number. They must shout out the hidden number within 10 seconds to be able to carry on with the course. If they get the number wrong, or don't see it within the 10 seconds, the trapdoor they're standing on opens and they're dropped into the water.
2) Steady Voyager:
Next the contestants have to balance a long metal pole on their hand and move it through an overhead electrified maze, which is made up of fixed bars, moving bars and a rotating wheel. The contestants have to get the pole through and out of the other side without touching the maze. At the end they must press a button with the pole to signify that they have finished the obstacle. If the pole does touch the maze it will send sparks flying and give the contestant an electric shock.
3) Ultimate Plank:
This is a giant board with the word "VIKING" on it. The letters are full of holes. Using only two short poles the contestants must cross the board by putting the poles in the holes and hanging on as they cross. They can't use anything other than their hands and poles.
